Frequently Asked Questions

Karen Lynch

Q: How many books will be in the Relentless series?

A: There is the initial trilogy, and I plan to write several companion books.

Q: Are any of the other characters getting their own books?

A: Yes. I'm currently working on Warrior, which is the trilogy retold in Nikolas's POV. After that I have a book planned for Roland and then one for Chris. I'm not sure about the other characters. If their story comes to me, I'll write it.

Q: How did you come up with the idea for Relentless?

A: I actually had a dream one night that gave me the idea for the book. Once the story evolved in my head and on paper, the dream scene never made it into the book. I did like that scene so I've saved it to use somewhere else.

Q: What kind of books do you like to read?

A: I like some of the classics and Jane Eyre is my absolute favorite. But when I'm chilling out, I like to read paranormal stories with a strong female lead and a good romance. One of my favorite series is the Rylee Adamson series by Shannon Mayer. Rylee is totally badass. I also like a heroine who can make me laugh. For that reason, I love Elle Casey's books. Some of her heroines crack me up and nothing feels better than a good laugh. For a list of some of my favorite YA books, check out my recommendations page.

Q: I've written a book. Can you read it and tell me what you think of it?

A: Due to my heavy work schedule, I don't read books from people I don't know. I have a small circle of author friends whose books I beta read, but I don't have time for anything beyond that.

Q: I love your characters and the world you've created. Is it ok if I use the Mohiri in my book if I use different characters?

A: I'm flattered, but I can't allow any of the characters or races I've created to be used in other books because it would confuse readers. My work is copyrighted against this.

Q: Is it ok for me to write Relentless fanfic?

A: As long as the stories are not disparaging to my characters or any form of erotica, and they are not sold, they are allowed.
