Rowan Cross learned young that a coven is no guarantee of safety. After her own coven failed her, she ran and found a home with Silas, a powerful witch who became the father she needed. Ten years later, the life she built comes crashing down when Silas is murdered.
Her search for Silas’s killer uncovers secrets, but every answer leads to more questions and more danger. Soon, she’s caught up in the growing conflict between the coven and the local pack, and butting heads with the pack enforcer. Witches and werewolves don’t mix, and she pretends she doesn’t notice when he starts to feel less like an enemy.
Rowan realizes Silas’s death was only the beginning. A powerful enemy is closing in, and another life is now hers to protect. Saving them both will push her magic beyond anything she’s ever attempted. She couldn’t save Silas, but she can save another – if she lives long enough to do it.

Jerry shot me a worried look when I grabbed my gear.
“What?” I asked in a low voice as I donned my shin guards. “I can hold my own against him.”
“That’s not what I’m worried about. You remember what happened in July?”
I scowled. “Are you ever going to let me forget that? How was I to know the guy was a projectile vomiter? And I paid for the cleaner, didn’t I?”
He arched an eyebrow. “And that thing with the Garcia brothers in March? They haven’t been back to the gym since.”
I pulled on my head gear. “You were there. They said I fight like a girl.”
“You are a girl.”
“Yes, but they made it sound like an insult. I had to defend my honor.”
